GMSA offers up to 4 teacher grant awards in the amount of $500 each for use in teachers’ classrooms.
The purpose of this grant is to enable teachers to pursue a special project or activity with their students that might not otherwise be possible. (*Any permanent items purchased through this grant will become the property of the school in which the teacher is working at the time the grant is awarded).
In order to be eligible a teacher or the school must be a current member of GMSA.
Winners will be honored at the 39th Annual Conference February 26-28, 2017 in Valdosta, Georgia.
All applications must be completed electronically and submitted by November 15, 2016.

Each year GMSA recognizes up to eight Teams of the Year for their outstanding work to improve the education and well-being of young adolescents in the state. Each winning team will receive a $100 gift certificate from Bowen Photography and will be honored at the GMSA conference, February 26-28, 2017 in Valdosta, GA.
In order to be eligible for Team of the Year, at least one team member OR the school must be a current member of GMSA.
The team must agree to attend and present at the GMSA conference in Valdosta, GA. February 26-28, 2017.
All entries must be completed online and submitted no later than November 15, 2016.
Finalists will be selected from each of the 8 regions of the state and one person from this group will be designated as Educator of the Year. The finalists and the winner will be recognized at the GMSA Annual Conference February 26-28, 2017 in Valdosta, Georgia.
must have been a teacher for a minimum of three years
exemplifies educational excellence
has made significant contributions to the middle level program in his/her school and/or system
has exhibited effectiveness as a middle level educator
has assumed positions of leadership at the school or system level
has developed and/or participated in innovative practices/projects related to the middle level
exhibits outstanding communication skills with students, staff, leadership, parents, and the community at large
Who Can Nominate
Anyone who is a member of GMSA in good standing may nominate an educator in their region.
Who is Eligible
Any full-time Georgia middle level educator with at least 3 years experience.
